Attention, Triathletes!!!
We are hosting a triathlon skills camp in Bend, OR this April 24 - 26 to build a solid foundation for triathlon season 2015. We would love it if you are able to attend. You’ll be immersed in the most cutting edge science in triathlon and a group of skilled professionals to lead your through. We are still hammering out some of the details but I can tell you the following. There are 2 new guests added to our roster:
Jay Dicharry, MPT, SCS - REP Biomechanics Lab Director, Author, Consultant, and Researcher. Jay was a big part of Linsey Corbin's lead up to her 10th place in Kona at Ironman World Championships this year.
Ellie Meyrowitz, PT, DPT, OCS – REP Biomechanics Lab PT and RRCA certified running coach. Ellie was a D1 swimmer for Indiana University and has focused on endurance athletes in her physical therapy career making her the perfect addition to the skills camp.
Mandon Welch, MPT – Mandon brings over a decade of manual therapy skills and has been a cornerstone of the triathlon community.
Linsey Corbin – American record holder in the Ironman distance hailing multiple top 10 performances at Ironman World Championships in Kona. This Bend native has returned back to her roots.
Matt Lieto – Matt brings years of experience in transforming his body and mind from watching TV to watching himself step up on the podium as a professional triathlete.
Heather Jackson – Multiple-time Wildflower champ and top finisher at multiple 70.3 Worlds, Heather joins us bringing her experience as an über biker
Jen Luebke – Jen brings years of experience as a swim coach and professional athlete and will ensure your experience is top notch. (I write you this email.)
Each day – Friday, Saturday, and Sunday – will be dedicated to each of the 3 disciplines with the help of one of the professional athletes.
Run: The REP Lab allows us to blur the worlds of biomechanical analysis, rehab, and performance training. We feature one of a few instrumented force plate treadmills in the US in order to give you objective feedback on your gait and how you run. From there we will be able to interpret the objective data for corrective exercises, running formmodification, and footwear recommendations.
Bike: Bike fits will also take place at the REP Lab where we combine industry-leading measurement tools and world-class experience and knowledge to fit you to your bike for optimal performance. We’ll cover everything from cleat position to equipment recommendations.
Swimming: Swim stroke analysis will help you refine your technique with innovative drills to gain confidence and valuable seconds. And we’ll add another layer by providing individual strength and mobility assessments, with action plans to improve your body to improve your sport. We have 2 therapists that swam collegiately to help us through…bonus!
In addition to the above, we feature informational lectures to make sense of the science for you. Outside of the lab and in Bend's great outdoors we can trail run, nordic ski, take the bikes out for a spin, tour the microbreweries, and eat at Bend's greatest restaurants. April can be nice and sunny or a tad rainy so be prepared for both. We will be taking advantage of the time to work on our skills indoors and enjoy the outdoors as weather permits.
